Local Dining Out Group May Dinner

We will be dining at The Old Thatch Pub & Restaurant, Stapehill, Wimborne



The old thatch pub is located in the beautiful Dorset countryside between Ferndown and Wimborne and sits in the site of a former gatehouse to the Uddens estate dating back to the 17th century. It is the quintessential, English country pub with its own thatched roof, log fire and as many of the locals will tell you, it’s very own ghost.

Local Dining Out Group Monthly Charity Raffle:

On Wednesday 23rd May we will be supporting The John McNeill Opportunity Centre in Salisbury with the proceeds from our raffle.

This Centre is South Wiltshire’s only specialist nursery for children with difficulties and disabilities, welcoming children with additional needs and to support their parents/carers. 

The children have a range of difficulties associated with autistic spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, communication difficulties, genetic disorders and sensory impairments.

Your ticket for our May 2018 dinner will cost £27.00 per person.
(This includes your travel to the restaurant, a Two Course Dinner and tips for our driver and the restaurant staff)

Booking Cut-Off Time

We need to receive your booking, menu choices and payment by early evening on:
Wednesday 16th May 2018
Please try not to leave it until this date as we may be fully booked.


Tickets will be allocated on a first booked and paid basis. Our tickets will be limited to around 30 because of the size of the coach.
It would be a good idea to enquire first before sending your booking/payment the nearer we get to the 16th May 2018
(If tickets remain unsold, later bookings may be accepted depending upon how near we are to the 23rd May and whether the restaurant will accept more bookings.)
IMPORTANT: We cannot guarantee any refunds for late cancellations, after the 18th April, unless we have diners on a waiting list
who will not only take the place but also the menu choices you made.

Seasonal Vegetables and Rich Onion Gravy.

[SALMON] Roasted Salmon - Roasted Fillet of Salmon with Peppers & Pesto served with New Potatoes.

[PIE] Homemade Steak & Ale Pie - Slow cooked tender diced Beef cooked in our Real Ale with a
Puff Pastry Case, Vegetables and Chips

[RAVIOLI] Mozzarella & Wild Mushroom Ravioli served with Truffle Oil & Sage, Parmesan,
Garlic Bread and Salad. [V]


[ETONMESS] Eton Mess -  fresh whipped cream, fresh strawberries, meringue and raspberry coulis.  

[STICKYTOFFEE] Sticky Toffee Pudding with Custard.

[CHEESECAKE] New York Vanilla Cheesecake with Pouring Cream.

[BROWNIE] Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream.

[CHEESE/BISC] Cheese and biscuits – Cheese: stilton, brie and cheddar, a selection of savoury biscuits
and a side garnish.

[ICECREAM] 3 scoops of Ice Cream - Vanilla x1, Chocolate x1, Salted Caramel x1

Coach Pickup Points:

We have arranged the following pickup points on the evening. We hope these will be near to most peoples houses.
Some times and pickup points may be added or removed according to who is coming on the evening.


The above times are estimates. Please try to be at your pickup point 5 minutes before the listed time as we are often ahead of time. Can you please make sure that we have your mobile phone number when booking and that you have your phone with you and switched on once you have left your house. We will make our contact phone number available to you in case of emergency.
