Join us for our next Local Dining Out Evening at The Ship Inn at Burcombe, near Wilton.

Location:   The Ship Inn at Burcombe near Wilton
Our July dinner takes us to another new venue, The Ship Inn at Burcombe.
This is located just a turn off the main A30 road leading out of Wilton towards Shaftesbury. Major improvements have been made, last year inside and this year outside including upgrading of the garden area. The inside retains its authentic old charm with a modern and clean feel to it. It has some excellent reviews on
Trip Advisor you can also see comments on their Facebook page.

Dining:   Restaurant
The restaurant area is located towards the far end of the extended bar area as you enter The Ship Inn. It will accomodate around 30 people and we will have tables for 4 or 6 people. There is a lovely atmosphere with lower beams and a rustic feel to the room. The bar is never far away for your drinks. Everyone should try to choose their seats as soon as we arrive.

Herrington's Coach Door to Door
We have arranged pick up points as near as possible to where you live, more can be added. Our coach will be from Herrington's Coaches. Our first pick up point is in Fordingbridge, then Burgate and Breamore, to Woodgreen, on to Hale and Woodfalls. We will go to Lover, Redlynch and back to Morgan's Vale and then Downton. We have changed some of the pickup points to accomodate some new members of our Local Dining Out Group.

Drinks:   Buy your drinks at the bar on arrival
When you have chosen your seats at your table your next stop will probably be the bar. The Ship Inn offers wine from Berry Bros. & Rudd plus a vast array of spirits, ales, lagers and soft drinks. SEE WINE LIST. There are normally 3 draught beers available including 6D Best from the local Sixpenny Brewery at Sixpenny Handley, Dorset. You might like to have a quick look at the new garden before we start our main course.


Menu Choices
We hope you will enjoy our dinner choices, all home cooked food. We have organised some favourites like slow cooked lamb shank and Steak Pie plus new choices of Tandoori Chicken or Apricot & Zucchini Tagine. Mouthwatering desserts will include Garden rhubarb tatre tatin, Strawberries & Cream, Carrot Cake and Choccy, we hope you like these new choices. Don't forget we still have a Cheesecake, Cheese & Biscuits and Creme Brulee. (see full menu choices )

Charity Raffle
We continue to raise money for the Shelter Box charity which supports emergency aid to places in the World which have been suddenly struck by natural disaster. You can read more about this on their website. The idea and target is for us to raise £590 for a 'New Start' box. We have now raised a total of £475.11 in 6 months towards our target. Your ticket for our July 2016 dinner will cost £24.00 per person covering your two course dinner and the travel by coach.

Please note we anticipate early booking on this dinner.


We are limited to 30 tickets for this restaurant and tickets will be allocated on a first come basis. Later bookings may be accepted depending upon how near we are to the 20th.
We cannot guarantee any refunds for late cancellations unless we have diners on a waiting list.

[TAGINE] Apricot and Zucchini Tagine, Classic Moroccan style, served with a Fresh Herb and Date Cous Cous.

[RHUBARB] Garden Rhubarb Tarte Tatin with Vanilla Pod Ice Cream.

If you cannot travel by coach but would like to join us at The Ship Inn, you are welcome to use your own car to get there.
However, your ticket price will remain the same, as if using the coach, unless we sell all the coach tickets.
